Join us for a webinar with Alastria, an LFDT associate member, on ISBE (Infraestructura de Servicios Blockchain de España). ISBE is a national, public-permissioned blockchain infrastructure designed to comply with EU Regulation by design and runs on Besu. ISBE is a production infrastructure backed by the Community of Madrid, built within the Alastria consortium, and funded by the EU’s NextGenerationEU programme. It is the first network in Europe designed to qualify as a qDLT, a regulated category that enables blockchain services to carry full legal weight across the EU’s digital single market.

In this session, the team will cover:

– Why a European infrastructure? The regulatory gap that existing networks cannot fill for regulated sectors.

– Architecture: A modular network built on Besu with QBFT consensus. The dual-network design (Bare Network and MainNet) is optimized for different regulatory needs.

– GDPR on-chain: How ISBE’s Filtering Proxy solves the right-to-erasure problem without breaking chain integrity, a first in production.

– Identity framework: W3C DIDs and Verifiable Credentials aligned with the EUDI Wallet, with no personal data on-chain.

– Smart contract governance: Using the Diamond Pattern (EIP-2535) for upgradeable, auditable contracts with intervention capability.

– Non-financial tokens: Using tokens for traceability and document lifecycles rather than finance.

– Governance by design: A multi-stakeholder model led by Alastria balancing public accountability and private sector participation.

– What comes next: How developers and public administrations connect and build on the ISBE ecosystem.

This session is designed for anyone interested in the future of compliant decentralized infrastructure, from technical architects and developers to policy experts and strategic leads. Whether you are building the tech or shaping the strategy, come with your questions.
