The Alastria Blockchain Awards 2026 aim to identify, assess and recognise the most relevant initiatives in digital transformation, business innovation and economic and social impact driven by Blockchain/DLT technology.
All organisations that have developed projects adding value to their services, business models, sectors or customer experience — with Blockchain as a core element of their functionality — are eligible to participate in the Alastria Blockchain Awards 2026.
In this edition, and for the second consecutive year, the Awards will also recognise the work of communication professionals in raising awareness of Blockchain/DLT technology, as well as the leadership and contribution of women to the development of the blockchain ecosystem.
The Alastria Blockchain Awards 2026 recognise excellence in the use of blockchain technology, knowledge dissemination and female leadership in the ecosystem, across the following categories:
We are looking for projects that meet one or more of the following criteria:
Each organisation may submit a maximum of 2 projects, provided they are different from each other and may belong to the same or different categories.
Decentralised Digital Identity: Projects may be submitted that offer digital identity solutions and/or address real-world problems related to digital identities and data sharing. They must use existing SSI (Self-Sovereign Identity) concepts and technologies and be aligned with the vision and principles of European digital identity.
Tokenisation and Digital Assets: Projects may be submitted that bring improvements to service delivery and/or introduce new business models based on tokenisation and digital assets.
Industrial Use Cases: Projects may be submitted that contribute to process improvement, efficiency and/or new business models in areas such as infrastructure development, traceability, registration and/or certification.
Sustainability: Projects may be submitted that contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030), the European Green Deal and/or are aligned with general ESG principles.
Works may be submitted that aim to raise awareness of Blockchain/DLT and its applications in the transformation of organisations, businesses and entities of all kinds, presenting use cases as a key tool for economic transformation and social progress.
Eligible formats include written or digital works, radio, television, podcasts and video podcasts published in traditional media — local, regional or national —, blogs or video and audio platforms, published or broadcast between 1 July 2025 and 27 September 2026.
Each communications professional may submit one work of their own authorship.
For the second consecutive year, the Blockchain Awards recognise female leadership in the blockchain ecosystem.
Women may be nominated — by themselves or by third parties — provided they have a distinguished professional profile in the sector, accompanied by a brief justification of their contributions.
Project categories: companies of any size, foundations, non-profit organisations and public administrations may participate, regardless of their size, nature or origin, provided their proposal is aligned with the objectives of the relevant category.
Journalistic / Dissemination Work: journalists, communicators, influencers and industry professionals may participate with works on blockchain technology in any of the accepted formats.
Most Influential Woman in Blockchain: all professionals who have shown significant impact in the blockchain ecosystem may be nominated, whether through leadership, innovation, technological contributions, educational initiatives, outreach or active participation in the development of the sector.
Works will be assessed based on journalistic quality and editorial treatment, rigour and accuracy of content, social relevance and reach of the message, originality and innovation in approach, and contribution to the promotion of blockchain and its applications.
The winner of the “Most Influential Woman in Blockchain” category will be selected through a public voting process, in which the concrete contributions of each candidate to the blockchain ecosystem will be assessed. The candidate who receives the most votes will be selected as the winner.
The Alastria Blockchain Awards are exclusively honorary in nature. Winners will receive a trophy in recognition of their contribution to blockchain technology. All awarded projects and individuals will receive coverage across Alastria’s official social media and communication channels, as well as in the media included in the organisation’s outreach activities.
Submission period
The submission period will open on 18 June 2026 at 10:00 AM (CEST). The deadline for submissions is 27 September 2026 at 11:59 PM (CEST).
Evaluation
Once the submission period closes, a detailed evaluation process will take place to select the three finalist candidates for each of the four project categories. A jury of experts in blockchain technology, business, sustainability and digital transformation will select the winner of each category. The votes of Alastria members will also be taken into account.
For the Journalistic/Educational Work category, an evaluation committee composed of journalism and communications professionals, academics, specialists and members of the Alastria board will select the winner from the shortlisted works.
For the Most Influential Woman in Blockchain category, the winner will be selected through an open participatory process. An open vote will be held and the candidate who receives the most support will be named the winner.
Awards ceremony
The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, at which the winners of all six categories will be announced.
