Ten experts discussed the future of the metaverse at Alastria Sessions#2 in Barcelona

Barcelona, 28 March. – Ten experts from the worlds of business, technology, regulation and innovation gathered at AlastriaSessions2 to examine the metaverse phenomenon and its (non)boundaries.

The gathering in #Barcelona left us with quotes such as these (part I):

John Whelan (Santander): “In my opinion, Web3 is different from the metaverse because Web3 is today’s internet plus property, but the metaverse is more related to augmented and virtual reality.”

Carlos Solana (Mediapro): “NFTs are to the metaverse as skins are to video games. Identity is a very meaningful word in blockchain and the metaverse.”

Ricardo Cevallos Seligmann (Neexyo Lab): “We want NFTs not only to deliver benefits within games but to combine virtual uses with the real world.”

Manuel Machado (Satoshi’s Games): “Blockchain is the enabler that’s creating the open and collaborative economy and allowing control of ownership of the digital assets underpinning this phenomenon.”

Carmen Chicharro (Metrovacesa): “The success of the metaverse lies in the mix between the virtual world and the real world, and without that mix companies will have a hard time seeing it as anything other than marketing.”
