Alastria and AUTELSI are organising the webinar ‘Metaverse, legal challenges’, to be held on 9 May 2024, at 10:30 am.
The webinar will present the report ‘Metaverse, legal challenges’ prepared by the AUTELSI Regulatory Group, which analyses the legal aspects that need to be properly addressed in the metaverse to ensure a safe, ethical and trustworthy environment. This paper also provides answers to questions raised in relation to several use cases such as citizen services, recruitment, educational services, financial services, and marketing of points of service, which will allow us to better understand the legal aspects involved in the Metaverse.
Miguel Ángel Domínguez will briefly present the main contributions contained in the document submitted by Alastria to the ‘Call for evidence on Virtual Worlds’, promoted by the European Commission, in May 2023. The webinar includes a debate with the participation of a multidisciplinary group of specialists in the areas of ICT, Legal, Compliance and Privacy and Data Protection, who will give their opinion on the risks, challenges and opportunities of the Metaverse, as well as the legal aspects to be considered in different scenarios:
the purchase of goods.
contracting services (financial, insurance).
interaction with public administrations.
registration of identities and traceability of actions carried out.
