Madrid, October 20, 2025 — Alastria, the public-permissioned blockchain platform and meeting point for blockchain development, has announced the 15 finalist projects for the Blockchain Awards 2025. The nominations showcase real and advanced use cases in digital identity and verifiable credentials; tokenization of assets —from physical gold to real estate and equity issuances—; and industrial applications, including traceability, logistics with IoT, digital passports, and waste management. They also address privacy and data sovereignty (zero-knowledge), circular economy and sustainability —biodiversity, green habits, and incentives—, as well as Web3 and community applications —startup funding and verification, digital inclusion, stablecoin payments, and education.
In addition to the five main categories —“Decentralized Digital Identity,” “Tokenization and Digital Assets,” “Industrial Uses,” “Web3,” and “Sustainability”—, this year introduces two new distinctions:
- The “Most Influential Woman in Blockchain” Award, an honorary recognition determined through an open participatory process within the ecosystem; and
- The “Best Journalistic/Outreach Work on Blockchain” Award, which will recognize rigor, clarity, and social impact in works published in any format (press, radio, television, podcast, or digital platforms). The winner will be announced during the awards ceremony.
“The 15 finalists of the 2025 Blockchain Awards confirm that blockchain technology is already embedded in sectors such as industrial traceability, digital identity, sustainability, and asset tokenization, delivering measurable results. SMEs, startups, large companies, and public administrations are transforming processes, optimizing resources, and solving concrete problems thanks to this technology,” said Miguel Ángel Domínguez, President of Alastria.
“Blockchain is not just innovation — it’s a competitive advantage for the European economy and a lever to modernize services, business models, and public processes with transparency and efficiency,” he added.
“In just three years, the Blockchain Awards have become a benchmark for talent and innovation in the Spanish and European blockchain ecosystem, highlighting real use cases, fostering public-private collaboration, and boosting the competitiveness of SMEs. This year, we’ve also added two distinctions that acknowledge the key role of communication and female leadership in the ecosystem’s growth. We are proud and grateful for the talent and commitment of those who research, build, and spread knowledge every day; their work drives responsible adoption and inspires us to continue scaling projects with real impact,” said Daniela Corredor, COO of Alastria.
The awards ceremony will take place on October 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Movistar Arena (formerly WiZink Center) in Madrid. The event will feature a keynote speech by tech entrepreneur and communicator Pau García-Milà, and the closing address by Ignacio Azorín González, Director of Digital Strategy for the Community of Madrid. The ceremony will be hosted by Rosa del Blanco, writer, journalist, and communication strategist specializing in the financial and new technology sectors. Alastria’s president Miguel Ángel Domínguez and members of the organization’s board will also participate.
This third edition is part of Madrid Tech Week and is sponsored by the Blockchain and Digital Transformation Clusters of the Community of Madrid, along with comma, a strategic communication consultancy.
As an added highlight, the official statuettes for the Blockchain Awards 2025 will be unique “meninas” created by artist Felipao especially for the occasion. An innovative and disruptive creator, pioneer in NFT collections, Felipao presents a special reinterpretation from his renowned Meninas 2.0 series, inspired by Spain’s Blockchain Services Infrastructure (ISBE). Alongside the physical pieces, a proof of concept will be conducted to notarize the certificate of authorship on ISBE, reinforcing the event’s commitment to innovation and digital traceability in art.
