Cookies Policy

CONSORCIO RED ALASTRIA [hereinafter, ALASTRIA] hereby informs you of the use of cookies on its website: https://alastria.io

What are cookies?

Cookies are files that can be downloaded onto your equipment via websites. They are tools with an essential role to provide numerous information society services. Among other uses, they allow a website to store and retrieve information on users’ browsing habits and their equipment and, depending on the information obtained, they can be used to recognise users and improve the service offered.

Types of cookies

Depending on the entity that manages the domain which sends the cookies and processes the data that is obtained, two types of cookies can be distinguished:

  • Own cookies: these are sent to a user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the website’s editor, through which the service requested by the user is provided.
  • Third-party cookies: these types of cookies are sent to a user’s equipment from a computer or domain which is not managed by the editor but rather by another entity that processes the data obtained via the cookies.

In the event that the cookies are installed via a computer or domain managed by the editor but the information collected by them is managed by a third party, they cannot be regarded as own cookies.

There also exists a second classification, depending on the period of time during which they are stored on the customer’s browser, which are as follows:

  • Session Cookies: these are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are usually used to store information that only needs to be retained for the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion (e.g. a list of purchased products).
  • Persistent cookies: the data remains stored on the terminal and can be accessed and processed during a period defined by the cookie manager, which may range from a few minutes to several years.

Finally, there is another classification with five kinds of cookies, depending on the purpose for which the obtained data is processed:

  • Technical cookies: these enable the user to browse a website, platform or application and use the various options and services available on them, e.g. controlling data traffic and communication, identifying the session, accessing areas with restricted access, remembering the elements that make up a purchase order, carrying out the purchase process for an order, applying for registration or participation in an event, using security elements during browsing, storing contents for the dissemination of videos and sounds and sharing contents on social media.
  • Personalisation cookies: these enable the user to access the service with some pre-defined characteristics of a general nature based on a set of criteria set in the user’s terminal, e.g. the language, the type of browser through which the user accesses the service, the configuration of the region from where the service is accessed, etc.
  • Analytical cookies: these enable their manager to monitor and analyse the online behaviour of the users of the websites to which they are linked. The information collected by means of these kinds of cookies is used to measure the activity of the websites, applications and platforms and to create browsing profiles of the users of the said websites, applications and platforms in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of the usage of the data carried out by the service users.
  • Advertising cookies: these allow advertising spaces to be managed as efficiently as possible.
  • Behavioural advertising cookies: these store information on the behaviour of users obtained by means of the continuous observation of their browsing habits, enabling them to develop a specific profile for displaying advertising based on the latter.
  • External social media cookies: these are used to enable visitors to interact with the contents of various social platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and are only generated for users of the said social networks. The conditions of use of these cookies and the information collected are regulated by the privacy policy of the corresponding social platform.
